If you’re managing properties in Buildium and struggling to keep up with inspections, you’ve probably felt the gap.
Maybe Buildium’s built-in inspection feature has shown limits as your portfolio has grown. Maybe you’re using a separate inspection tool that doesn’t sync with Buildium, so you’re stuck manually re-entering properties, residents, updating lease dates in two places, and downloading and uploading inspection reports by hand.
Either way, the problem is the same: getting to every property, staying on top of inspections, and keeping up with move-ins and move-outs across a growing portfolio takes more bandwidth than most teams have.
RentCheck solves both problems. And now it syncs natively with Buildium.
What RentCheck Does Differently
RentCheck is the most purpose-built inspection platform for growing property managers and the category leader for resident-led inspections. Instead of sending a staff member to every unit, you assign inspections to residents directly. Residents complete them from their phone using a guided, step-by-step flow, uploading time-stamped photos and notes along the way. You review, approve, and the report is documented.
The result: full inspection coverage without the scheduling burden, the travel time, or the headcount.
For property managers using Buildium, this isn’t just a better inspection tool. It’s how you keep up with inspections as your portfolio scales without adding staff or falling behind.
How the RentCheck + Buildium Sync Works
The native two-way sync between RentCheck and Buildium keeps your property data and inspection records current automatically. No imports, no manual transfers, no reconciling two systems at the end of the month.
Here’s what syncs:
Properties & Units
When you add or update a property or unit in Buildium, it appears in RentCheck automatically. Your RentCheck property list stays current because it’s pulling directly from Buildium, the system you’re already keeping up to date. No separate imports. No manual entry.
Residents & Leases
Resident names, contact info, lease dates, and move dates sync from Buildium into RentCheck automatically. When you add a new resident or update a lease in Buildium, RentCheck picks it up. Inspections get assigned to the right people without any setup on both sides. Move-in and move-out inspections can be scheduled from actual lease dates pulled directly from Buildium, not from a date you typed separately and may have forgotten to update.
Resident records connect to active and future leases only, so inspection assignments stay clean as your portfolio turns over.
Completed Inspection Reports
Completed inspection reports sync back to Buildium automatically, twice daily, with no action required on your end. If you need a report in Buildium before the next scheduled sync, you can trigger one manually at any time. Both staff-completed inspections and resident self-inspections are included.
Reports route to the right place automatically:
- Unit inspections attach to the unit’s file section
- Building inspections go to the property page Files tab
- Internal and resident inspections attach to both the property or unit page and the tenant’s occupancy profile
Everything lands under a file category of your choice in Buildium. The live RentCheck inspection link is included in the file description so you can get back to the original report in one click.
No need to remember to download the PDF report, go into Buildium, find the right property or unit record, and upload the file.
A Note on Buildium Premium
One Thing to Know Before You Connect:

If you're already on Premium, you're ready to connect! If you're not sure which plan you're on, reach out to your Buildium account manager for more information.
